Two of our community’s preeminent charitable organisations are reminding residents that though times are tough, no one is alone – and there is help available.
Ararat Neighbourhood House are dedicated to helping members of the community battle the rising costs of groceries, rent and mortgages, via their food relief service. To access the Food Hub, simply call Ararat Neighbourhood House on 5352 1511 and book yourself in to visit between 12pm – 2pm, Tuesday – Friday.
Ararat Neighbourhood House is located at 56 Campbell Street, Ararat.
If you are looking for support which may go beyond simple food relief, Ararat Emergency Relief provides a wide array of services. The facility is open for one hour each weekday (1pm – 2pm), and anyone can drop in without calling ahead.
Emergency Relief offers groceries, vouchers, personal items (such as clothing and toiletries), counselling, and crisis accommodation.
Though it is accessible every weekday, the service operates on a rotating roster manned by five of Ararat’s church groups, so its location varies according to which group is hosting for any given week. Be sure to check the organisation’s upcoming dates and locations below.
