Western Downs artist Cindy Grimes will display her representation of the charms to be found in everyday life in her exhibition, Ordinary Days, that will be displayed at Goombungee’s Rosalie Gallery from August 21 to September 15, 2024.

Cindy, who has lived in the Western Downs for more than 20 years, celebrates the small, everyday moments, community places, hard work times and the high colour of the flush times in documenting everyday regional Queensland landscapes and life in her paintings.

Her creative interest is not limited to the Queensland landscape; however, its influence is a major aspect of her practice.

She is driven by a fascination with capturing the stories in her own backyard, which grow stronger the more she observes, paints and creates.

Following the footsteps of others who capture the charm of the everyday, Cindy finds inspiration where she lives and works, the appeal of favourite places and daily life.

Cindy has exhibited regularly across South East and South West Queensland for the past 30 years and has received awards in these areas as well as Central Queensland.

The exhibition’s Meet the Artist Day will be held between 10.30am and 3.30pm on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
