The Shire has been given final approval to commence the reinstatement of significant road damage from the March 2023 storm events. The Shire made application through DFES to declare the event a disaster and make emergency funding available. In the coming weeks $8M worth of work will begin to repair over 130 locations across the Shire including road carriageway and road shoulder scours; areas where unsealed gravel road pavements have been washed away; destroyed or blocked culverts; total destruction of culvert headwalls; bridge props; and silting of table and cut-off drains. The work will be carried out out by MC Civil Contractors and is expected to take approximately 12 months to complete.
