Connecting fathers and creating stronger communities Proud dads and their adorable babies celebrate completing the Cardinia Dads Program. Published: 26 August 2024

Cardinia Shire Council, in partnership with Anglicare Victoria, have completed another successful Cardinia Dads support group.

Cardinia Dads is a free six-week face-to-face support group for dads in Cardinia Shire. The support group aims to provide valuable resources and a supportive environment for dads with children aged from birth to school age.

The groups explore early childhood development and early years services, helping dads establish meaningful connections with their children and fostering links within their community.

Parenthood comes with joys and challenges, and the support groups serve as a platform for dads to connect with other fathers in the area, share experiences, and access information about available support services.

The first Cardinia Dads group session commenced in May 2024. The popular sessions are held at Anglicare Victoria's Parentzone on Army Road in Pakenham. This year's final Cardinia Dads group session will run from 9 October – 13 November 2024.

In addition to these support groups, Cardinia Shire Council offers various other Maternal and Child Health services, including health and development checks, sleep settling programs, Smalltalk supported playgroups, and first-time parent groups.
