The community is invited to share their views on City of Wanneroo programs, services and support for young people.

You can have your say via the City’s convenient online community engagement portal.

Wanneroo Mayor Linda Aitken said the community’s feedback was essential as the information provided would help shape what the City offer’s residents aged nine to 24 year olds in the future.

“The youth demographic makes up about a quarter of the City of Wanneroo’s population, with more than 53,000 young people aged between 12 to 24 years residing in the City,” Mayor Aitken said.

“This is our next generation of leaders, and at such an impressionable age, there is no better time to make a positive impact on them.

“Navigating adolescence has its challenges, and it’s important that young people feel supported and have the opportunity to engage in fun and safe activities.

“I encourage both parents and young people that live, work, or play in the City to provide their ideas.”

The City has four youth centres, located in Yanchep, Wanneroo, Girrawheen and Clarkson, as well as a mobile Outreach Program, and low-cost school holiday programs.

The youth centres currently provide a safe space for 12-17 year-olds to drop in and get involved in activities such as, playing pool, video games, arts and cooking, with experienced Youth Workers.
