Wyndham City is pleased to announce that the construction tender for the upgrade of local roads in Little River has been successfully awarded, with works to commence in the coming weeks.
The project will upgrade and resurface Old Melbourne Road and Rothwell Road from Old Melbourne Road to McLeans Road, with sealed lanes and shoulders.
Other improvement works such as drainage, will also be included.
Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Jennie Barrera, said the project showcases Wyndham’s commitment to enhancing local roads and safety within the community.
“These crucial upgrades will provide the Little River community with more efficient travel, leading to better connectivity,” Cr Barrera said.
“Safety is one of our top priorities at Wyndham City and by implementing necessary upgrades to our local roads, we are taking significant steps to ensure the safety of every driver, cyclist and pedestrian.”
“In the 2024/25 Annual Plan and Budget we have dedicated $52.6 million to fund important road works across the municipality.”
“These works form part of our Connecting Wyndham strategy – an investment into our future to better keep Wyndham connected.”
The works are expected to conclude mid-2025.
