Wodonga’s seniors are invited to kick up their heels, get active and enjoy great activities with old friends and new as part of Senior Celebrations 2024.
The activities kick off on Sunday, October 6, with a jam-packed program with loads of free and low-cost events to enjoy including rocking music concerts, creative craft sessions and an array of walks and tours. The headline event is a free concert from Hit Parade, led by Glenn Starr at the Cube Wodonga at 11am on Tuesday, October 8.
Enjoy a tribute to the unforgettable hits of the 1950s and 1960s in this sensational show as Hit Parade goes beyond the well-known classics, featuring a carefully curated selection of songs and artists. The show will be preceded by a morning tea. Bookings are required.
Activities continue throughout the week with a focus on fun, fitness, learning and friendships.
Wodonga Mayor Ron Mildren said the week was an opportunity for the community to honour seniors who have done so much for the city of Wodonga.
“Our seniors have earned the right to celebrate after decades of contributing to our community,” he said.
“During these celebrations we honour their experiences, wisdom and contributions which have enriched our city in countless ways and recognise the role they continue to play in shaping our community for current and future generations.”
Come along and reconnect with old pals or make new ones, discover a hobby, stay active, learn something new or soak up some fantastic entertainment.
The celebrations will conclude on Tuesday, October 15. View the full program below or pick-up a print program from the Wodonga Council offices, The Cube Wodonga or one of the participating event partners.
