UPDATE ON COUNCIL SERVICES AND CLOSURES (3 SEPTEMBER 2024 – 11AM)

Due to the recent severe weather event, a number of Council services have been impacted as noted below.

Our previous telephone outage has now been resolved.  Calls can be made as normal during office hours on tel. 6429 8900.

Current road closures (as at 9.30am Tuesday 3 September) Allison Road, North Motton – past Purtons Flats Road (as previously advised) Central Castra Road – from Castra Road to Isandula Road Deviation Road, Penguin – between Main Road and Russell Street Edinborough Road, Abbotsham – closed adjacent to No. 100 – can be accessed from either end; no through traffic Isandula Road, Gawler – between Wilsonia and Prestons Roads – power lines over road South Road, Penguin – at No. 667 South Road Sunset Lane, Penguin

Community Facilities open for residents impacted by power outages

The Council will be opening facilities again today for residents impacted by power outages to use amenities and charge electrical devices.

Ulverstone Sports & Leisure Centre – Flora Street, West Ulverstone 11am – 5pm Please enter via Squash Club entrance

Riana Community Centre – Pine Road, Riana 4pm – 5pm

Resource Recovery Centre

The Resource Recovery Centre at Lobster Creek Road is open to the public from today (Tuesday 3 September) during normal operating hours (9am – 5pm).

At this stage, the site will be running on emergency generator power and will be operating at minimum capacity.   The Resale Shop will not be open.

We will advise further when main power is restored and the Resale Shop re-opens.

Other closures Sports Grounds

All sports grounds have been re-opened with the exception of Oval A at Dial Park, Penguin.
