At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 28 August 2024, the Shire of Boddington adopted its highly anticipated 2024/2025 Budget, setting the stage for a dynamic year of growth and community-driven projects. This year's capital works program, valued at an impressive $7.4 million, will deliver significant investments in infrastructure, buildings, and equipment.
Among the standout initiatives, the Town Centre Revitalisation will remain a major focus, with upgrades including the sealing of the Town Hall Carpark and Peppercorn Lane, installation of a new mural, tree planting, and green space designs to enhance the heart of Boddington.
Aged care accommodation continues to be a top priority, with funds dedicated to selecting an operator for the future facility and securing land from the State Government. Additionally, the construction of 20 kilometres of mountain bike and walking trails at the Old Town Dam site promises to boost tourism and outdoor recreation.
The Caravan Park enhancement project will also progress into its construction phase, with six new chalets planned for the next 18 months. Meanwhile, the Hotham River will undergo micro-dredging to improve recreational access following recommendations from the community-led Reference Group.
Other exciting projects include upgrades to Ranford Pool, the Interpretive Centre, and the Tullis Rail Trail, along with planning for enhancements to the Boddington Swimming Pool and ongoing advocacy for improved local health services.
