The Business Assistance Grant has been updated following the July Council Meeting to further boost Boddington’s economy and support the community’s goal of greater prosperity. Small to medium-sized businesses can now apply for up to $5,000 in funding on a 50-50 basis, which can be used for projects like shopfront improvements, crime prevention, or place activation. Applications are open year-round.
The Shire of Boddington was recently recognised as a Small Business Friendly Local Government, thanks to its commitment to supporting local businesses. Efforts include destination marketing to increase visitors and hosting Business After Hours events, allowing businesses to network and contribute to the Shire’s Council Plan.
A recent highlight is the revised Business Assistance Grant, aimed at helping Boddington’s economy grow. Shire President Garry Ventris recently met with local business owners Tina Paridaens (Bliss Dermal Clinic), Leanne Hoek (The Old Bakery), and Jo Perkins (Blue Wren Park) to discuss the program.
Tina plans to apply for a grant to improve her shopfront on Astray Terrace, while Leanne supports encouraging residents to shop locally. Jo, a recent recipient, praised the grant for helping expand her customer base to the Wheatbelt and Great Southern regions.
