Celebrate the 2024 Victorian Seniors Festival

Published on 12 September 2024

Various events will be held across the Gannawarra this October to mark the 2024 Victorian Seniors Festival.

Now in its 42nd year, the 2024 festival’s theme is ‘Explore. Engage. Evolve.’ – encouraging older Victorians to stay curious and connected by exploring new activities, meeting new people, and changing how we think of ageing.

“Our senior residents have contributed to making the Gannawarra the great place it is now, and the Victorian Seniors Festival is a great way to celebrate this,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.

“Council is proud to again be hosting numerous free events during the festival that will occur in communities across the Gannawarra.”

Major local events occurring throughout October include:

The Leitchville Movie and Meal session, occurring at the Leitchville Memorial Hall on Thursday, 3 October from 12 noon. The Seniors’ Creekside Lunch, occurring at Tree Tops Scout Camp on Wednesday, 9 October from 12 noon. Tri-a Trishaw gathering, occurring in Victoria Square, Kerang on Thursday, 10 October from 10am-2pm. A Morning Tea and Mugs event, occurring at the Cohuna Library on Wednesday, 16 October from 10.30am. A singalong with the Gay Charmers, occurring at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Friday, 18 October from 2pm.

The 2024 Victoria Seniors Festival program features details on the above events, including how to book and transport options, as well as other events occurring during the month.
