The Albany Leisure & Aquatic Centre’s (ALAC) successful Long Live You program is turning five, and the Centre is hosting an Open Day to mark this milestone on 1 October with a morning of activities.
The Long Live You program has grown steadily over the past five years, inspiring community members that are more than 50 years old to stay active, healthy, and socially connected.
Open Day attendees can look forward to strength and fitness classes, water-based exercise, dance, yoga, and a variety of social sports like carpet bowls, tennis, pickleball, and table tennis.
Those who attend on the day can enter the draw to win a 12-month Long Live You membership, with an additional entry available for those who participate in one of the many fitness classes on offer.
Residents who join Long Live You on a paid 12-month membership during the month of October will also receive 5 weeks free.
Executive Director Community Services Nathan Watson said the Open Day was a chance to see firsthand what makes the program so special.
“The Long Live You program has been a cornerstone of the City’s efforts to promote active, healthy lifestyles for seniors,” Mr Watson said.
“Reaching five years is a testament to the program’s success and we’re thrilled to celebrate it with this special event.
“Whether you’re a regular participant or curious about what Long Live You has to offer, we welcome you to come along and enjoy the day.”
