The Fremantle Visitor Centre has been named as a finalist in the 2024 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards.
The Visitor Centre, located in Walyalup Koort, is the first port of call for many visitors to Fremantle.
Last year the staff and a team of 44 Volunteer Ambassadors serviced more than 42,000 visitors.
Team Leader Heather Christy said she was delighted for the team to be among the finalists in the Visitor Information Services category.
“Our dedicated and knowledgeable staff and volunteers not only deliver exceptional service at the centre but also extend their support to additional locations around Fremantle during the cruise season.
“They are always looking for ways to enhance the visitor experience and encourage longer stays in Fremantle,” Ms Christy said.
The Visitor Centre is modern and spacious having been built as part of the Walyalup Civic Centre development.
It is a hub for travel information, event listings, merchandise, and other services including free bike hire, locker hire and a sunscreen kiosk.
The WA Tourism Award winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner at Crown Perth on Saturday 9 November 2024.
