Liverpool City Council is calling on the city’s HSC Visual Arts students to be part of NEXT 2024 – an exhibition showcasing local students’ artistic talent.

Director Community and Lifestyle Tina Bono said: “This is a great opportunity for young people from the Liverpool area to showcase their artistic talents and efforts.

“It also gives Liverpool’s residents and ratepayers the chance to see what a stunning exhibition of local artworks of local students at the world class Yellamundie (Liverpool City Library),” she said.

The NEXT 2024 Exhibition is curated by Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, the leading arts facility for South West Sydney and is staged in Yellamundie, currently a finalist in the world’s best libraries award, set to be announced in early October.

“The vision is to contribute to an inclusive and creative community through the presentation and production of compelling, quality, and diverse exhibition programs,” Ms Bono said.

“We are particularly committed to showcasing the talents of young people in the Liverpool area and supporting them in their personal and professional development.”

The city’s art teachers are especially asked to make sure their students find out about the exhibition, Ms Bono said.

“Art teachers from schools in the Liverpool LGA can nominate as many students from their HSC class as they like,” she said.

“Teachers will receive a confirmation email for each student nomination and all schools that put forward nominations will be represented in the exhibition.”

Nomination   Form Deadline: Monday 9th December 2024, 5pm.Teachers   contacted by CPAC regarding successful student entries: Friday 13th December   2024.Successful   students to return signed Loan Agreements: Tuesday 17th December 2024.Artwork   delivery to CPAC: Monday 10th February 2025, 10am - 3pm.Exhibition   dates: Sat 1 March - Sun 27 April 2025 at Yellamundie (Liverpool Library   & Gallery).
