Families are invited to celebrate the Town of Cambridge’s 30th birthday at the Teddy Bears Picnic, a fun-filled event featuring activities and entertainment for all ages.
The event will take place on Tuesday, 1 October 2024, from 11am to 2pm at the picturesque Quarry Amphitheatre, where families are encouraged to bring a picnic, blanket, and their favourite teddy bear.
Glenn Swift, a favourite local entertainer, will captivate young audiences with storytelling, while local author Aliya McTiernan shares her book, Big Brown Bear, inspiring young writers. The Western Australian Youth Strings Orchestra (WAYS) will also perform, showcasing the talent of young musicians in the beautiful Quarry Amphitheatre setting.
“The Teddy Bears Picnic is a wonderful way for families to come together and celebrate our community, especially during the school holidays,” Deputy Mayor Ben Mayes said.
“It’s also a great opportunity to showcase our community’s young talent. We encourage everyone to register and join us for what will be a memorable day.”
Face painting, games, and bubbles will keep children entertained. Picnic packs are available for purchase but will need to be preordered. Seating and cushions will be provided by Cambridge Library for a comfortable day out.
Bookings are not required, but attendees are encouraged to register their interest. For more information or to register your interest, visit the Town’s website.
