Residents wanting to learn about key proposed and completed energy infrastructure in the Gannawarra are encouraged to join Gannawarra Shire Council and various agencies for a free information morning and bus tour.
Council, Edify Energy, VicGrid, Transmission Company Victoria and the Australian Energy Market Operator have united to host this special event, beginning at the Kerang Memorial Hall on Thursday, 17 October at 9am and finishing at 12.15pm with a light lunch following a tour of the municipality.
“The Gannawarra Energy event aims to provide residents with information on key energy infrastructure upgrades, such as VNI West, and local renewable energy projects that are proposed for the Gannawarra,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
The day’s program will begin at 9am with presentations from Edify Energy, VicGrid, and Australian Energy Market Operator representatives, followed by a bus tour of the area.
“This event is a great opportunity to hear what is proposed and to understand how these developments work within the network and learn how current projects operate, such as Edify Energy’s Koorangie Energy Storage System and the Gannawarra Solar Farm,” Mr Rollinson said.
“People who attend this event will also be able to talk to various industry representatives following the tour and ask any questions they may have.”
Morning tea and a light lunch is included as part of the program.
Bookings are essential, which can be completed by phoning Gannawarra Shire Council on (03) 5450 9333.
