Fairbairn Dam users are advised of upcoming work to repair overhead powerlines on Selma Road between Tuesday 8 October 2024 and Sunday 13 October 2024.
The repairs will require temporary closures of:
Selma Road (full closure) between Geoffrey Kavanagh Park and the intersection of Selma Road and Fairbairn Dam Road on Friday 11 October 2024 between 6:00am and 6:00pm
Fairbairn Dam right bank lookout and amenities block (full closure) from Tuesday 8 October 2024 to Sunday 13 October 2024.
The closure areas are marked in red on the accompanying image.
Selma Road and the right bank lookout area will reopen as soon as works are complete, and the areas are deemed safe for public use.
Residents from Fairbairn Dam, Camp Fairbairn and Ski roads should use Fairbairn Dam Road and Gregory Highway to access Emerald on Friday 11 October 2024 between the hours of 6:00am – 6:00pm.
The caravan park boat ramp, recreation and picnic area will remain open but will only be accessible via Gregory Highway and Fairbairn Dam Road on Friday 11 October 2024 between 6:00am and 6:00pm.
