More than 250 people enjoyed a fun-filled day out at the Quarry Amphitheatre for the Teddy Bears Picnic on 1 October 2024 as part of the Town of Cambridge’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
The event offered a variety of activities and entertainment for all ages. Children enjoyed face painting, games, and giant bubbles organised by the Cambridge Library team. The Quarry provided low chairs and cushions for added comfort.
Local entertainer Glenn Swift kept young audiences engaged with storytelling, while young author Aliya McTiernan read her book Big Brown Bear (published in 2021 when she was 10). The Western Australian Youth Strings Orchestra (WAYS) performed, showcasing young local talent.
Families and friends brought their own picnics and teddy bears, creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere. The Teddy Bears Picnic successfully brought the community together for a day of enjoyment and togetherness at the scenic Quarry.
