Held during October, Bike Month is Western Australia’s annual celebration of bike riding for transport, fun and a healthier lifestyle. It aims to encourage people of all ages and abilities to ride more often for everyday trips.
The City of Fremantle is celebrating Bike Month with a number of free community events for people of all ages and skills. And with safe cycle paths, free bike rental from the Visitor Centre and free community activities for all, getting on the bike in Fremantle has never been easier!
As a bike-friendly city, Fremantle has dedicated on-road bike lanes, shared cycle paths, safe intersections for cyclists and bike parking bays throughout the city. To find out more about local bike paths and bike safety head to Bicycle Network Website

‘Ride2Work’ Day Morning TeaFriday 18 October | 7.30-9am | Newman Court, Fremantle | FREE
Cycle or e-bike, walk, or catch public transport part of the way and join us for a community morning tea at Newman Court Friday 18 October from 7.30-9am to celebrate bike month and make an active move to work!
A fun morning with coffee and morning tea provided (until exhausted), free light bike maintenance and repairs, and free bike resources for all. Everyone who uses active transport can also collect a raffle to go into the draw to win one of three bike gift vouchers!
Celebrate with the community and chat with fellow commuters.

Shift your cycling skills up a gear! Bike riders of all abilities are invited to join us at the City Centre Cycle Fair for a fun and educational experience in celebration of WA Bike Month!
The City of Fremantle has partnered with WestCycle and the RAC to host a cycle fair in Walyalup Koort as part of WA Bike Month activities.
Bring your bike along on the morning for a fun and educational experience designed for bike riders of all abilities. You’ll learn how to navigate the streets safely and hear from experts on bike maintenance and products. You’ll also have the chance to connect and mingle with other bicycle enthusiasts from around the city and share your thoughts on cycling in Fremantle for an upcoming project.
There will be plenty to do for everyone of all ages and skills including bike basics workshop, bike maintenance checks, cycle tours ran by Cycle Without Age, and more!

Join one of RAC’s Bike Basics workshop hosted by the City of Fremantle in North Fremantle and refresh your bike knowledge and riding skills as you cover a range of topics on bike safety, skills and maintenance!
The session is open to all ages. The Toy Library will also be hosting a range of fun and free activities for families open to all. Coffee will also be available!
