Council launches 2025 Apprenticeship and Traineeship Program

Charters Towers Regional Council has today launched its Apprenticeship and Traineeship Program for 2025.
Mayor Liz Schmidt said, “Council is delighted to offer a range of opportunities to people wanting to kickstart their careers in local government.
“This year, we have been fortunate enough to secure funding allocations under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work – First Start Program for the 2024-2025 financial year.
“The First Start Program primarily targets young Queensland school leavers and disadvantaged job seekers considered at risk of enduring prolonged periods of unemployment.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to build a career with Council, offering hands-on experience while completing their studies,” said Mayor Schmidt.
Council is now recruiting for:
Procurement Administration Trainee Customer Service and Records Trainee Horticulture Trainee Project Support Officer Trainee Visitor Services & Tourism Trainee Water and Wastewater Operations (Treament) Trainee Roads Team Member ApprenticeMayor Schmidt said, “it is essential for Council to take the lead in providing these opportunities to meet the community's recruitment and development needs, and I am eager to welcome new team members in 2025.”
