Ashley Hall has been elected to the office of Mayor of Edward River Council at an extraordinary council meeting held on Tuesday 15 October. He will serve a two-year term, leading the Council until September 2026.
Additionally, Kellie Crossley was elected to the position of Deputy Mayor. She will serve a two-year term in this key role.
During the inaugural meeting, all nine Councillors were sworn in for their four-year term, ready to serve the residents of Edward River.
Interim Chief Executive Officer Gary Arnold congratulated Mr Hall and Ms Crossley on their appointments, stating, "As we embark on this new chapter, I look forward to collaborating closely with Mayor Hall and Deputy Mayor Crossley.
"Along with the rest of the Council, we will work together to create positive change and foster a thriving community for all in Edward River.
āIād also like to thank all citizens who put their names and energy forward in running for Council - your passion and commitment to our community are commendable,ā said Mr Arnold.
Mayor Hall and Deputy Mayor Crossley will be supported by the other seven elected Councillors: Ken Bates, Shirlee Burge, Craig Druitt, Linda Fawns, Leanne Mulham, Shannon Sampson and Frank Schofield.
