Billabong Creek Floodplain Management Plan consultation in Wanganella

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is developing a new floodplain management plan for the Billabong Creek floodplain and is seeking community feedback on key elements of the plan.

The public consultation will seek feedback on issues including the proposed floodplain boundary and floodway network.

Feedback on these elements can made from 8 October to 18 November 2024.

Floodplain management plans set the rules for flood work development on floodplains in rural areas. They map the floodways and apply rules and assessment criteria for flood work approvals.

Individual appointments will be held on Tuesday 22 October in Jerilderie, Wednesday 23 October in Moulamein, and Thursday 24 October in Wanganella.

Online appointments are also available on 21, 28 and 29 October. You can find more information and book an appointment by visiting:
