The Role:

Our Compliance Investigation Officer delivers building and planning compliance and advisory services to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and take or recommend appropriate action to be taken on behalf of Council. Additionally, this position will assist with the annual Trade Waste inspection program.

What we are looking for:

You will need to be trade qualified or have experience in the building construction industry particularly for sheds and dwellings or in a compliance related position You will have an understanding of, or the ability to quickly acquire an understanding of the current laws and policies relating to building and development, including interpretation of Planning Schemes and the associated documentation pertaining to the Building Act 1975 and Building Code of Australia You will need to have highly developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to negotiate positive outcomes with external customers You will be able to act and think appropriately under pressure You will have excellent time management and problem-solving skills
