Community representatives are being sought to help develop Structure Plans for Camperdown and Terang.
A project working group is being established for each town. They will be chaired by a Ward Councillor and supported by Council staff.
Participation is likely to involve approximately 4-5 meetings, until mid-2025.
The first meetings will be on Wednesday 27 November, in the afternoon/evening.
Corangamite Shire Director Sustainable Development Justine Linley said Council was committed to supporting the towns’ futures.
“Council is committed to supporting the future of Camperdown and Terang by creating sustainable communities, developing a vision and strategic direction for land-use in each of the towns – called a Structure Plan,” Ms Linley said.
“We are seeking community representatives, to provide input and advice and assist in the decision making throughout the project.
“They will help us answer questions like ‘What do we value most about our towns and our communities?’ ‘What do we need to do to support future growth and development over the next 15-20-years?’ and ‘What do we need to change and what do we need to protect?’.
“A Structure Plan for each town will enable us to capitalise on development opportunities and provide clear direction on sustainable growth and investment attraction.
“It will direct and promote residential growth, protect both the landscape, environment and neighbourhood characters, and plan for the growth of commercial, industrial and tourism opportunities.”
Expressions of interest can be made until 4pm on Wednesday 6 November at
