Draft Community Participation Plan
At its meeting of 31 October 2024, Council resolved to place the draft Community Participation Plan on public exhibition for a period of 28 days.
A copy of this Plan can be viewed by clicking on the name of the Plan listed above.
Community input and participation are crucial for creating great places and thriving communities across the Moree Plains Shire.
The draft Community Participation Plan is an invitation to the community to participate in planning and, provides guidance for how the community can have a say on different types of planning documents, on a general scale (for example, draft Local Environmental Plans) or on a site-specific scale (for example, DAs).
The Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 was amended to require all planning authorities (including councils) to prepare a Community Participation Plan outlining how they will engage with their respective communities in carrying out their planning functions. The Community Participation Plan must not relate to any other functions of Moree Plains Shire Council (Council).
Council’s draft Community Participation Plan is currently available for public comment. A hard copy of the Policy is available from Council’s customer service centre in Moree and the Moree Community Library.
Your feedback and comments are welcomed by 5pm Thursday 28 November and can be submitted to the General Manager, Moree Plains Shire Council, PO Box 420, Moree NSW 2400.
