Cardinia Shire’s new council declared Published: 11 November 2024

Cardinia Shire Council is pleased to welcome our newly elected Councillors for the next council term 2024-2028.

The results of Cardinia Shire’s local government elections were officially declared by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) today. 

The 9 successful candidates per ward are as follows:

Beacon Hills Ward: Brett Owen  Bunyip Ward: Alanna Pomeroy Central Ward: Collin Ross Henty Ward: Liz Roberts Officer Ward: Samantha-Jane Potter Pakenham Hills Ward: Jack Kowarzik Ranges Ward: David Nickell Toomuc Ward: Casey Thomsen Westernport Ward: Trudi Paton

Cardinia Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Carol Jeffs congratulates the successful candidates on the outcome of the election results. 

“I offer my congratulations to each of the 9 successful candidates on this achievement. We are pleased to welcome our elected councillors and look forward working alongside each of you for an exciting term ahead.”  

Over the course of the week, the successful candidates will be taken through a welcome program where they take the Oath of Office and officially become Cardinia Shire Councillors. 

The new council group will elect the Mayor and Deputy Mayor at the Statutory Council Meeting to be held on Monday 25 November 2024.
