After direct notification from police, Moree Plains Shire Council is aware there has been an armed robbery in the township overnight.

Moree Plains Shire Council is determined to advocate for getting the state government policing and justice policies right so that our township’s businesses and people are protected.

Our Mayor and General Manager are traveling to Sydney today to meet with both our state Member of Parliament and the Premier to ensure community concerns and expectations are heard by the decision-makers responsible at a state government level.

We extend our sympathies to the victims of crime.
