Following the storm that lashed Emerald on Thursday 14 November, it’s all hands on deck as council crews work to clean up public spaces. For residents managing their own clean-up efforts, council has extended hours at both the Lochlees and Emerald Resource Recovery Centres to accommodate green waste disposal.
The Lochlees landfill site is the best place for people to head to for green waste disposal. Lochlees hours have been extended this weekend, with the facility now open from 7.00 am to 4.30 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
Additionally, the Emerald Resource Recovery Centre will be open on Monday 18 November, for green waste disposal only. Its regular operating hours on Saturday and Sunday will remain unchanged, from 7.00 am to 4.00 pm If your green waste load contains other waste items you will be charged, so make sure you separate your green waste from general waste well.
When a natural disaster strikes, stay informed and up to date with council’s disaster management dashboard.
