The Coolgardie Community Recreation Facility buzzed with excitement on Thursday, October 10th, as local fitness enthusiasts gathered for an exhilarating Spin Competition, part of the October Bike Month activities. The event, held from 3 PM to 7 PM, culminated in a thrilling finish that saw Mellany Kennedy crowned the overall winner. As a reward for her impressive performance, Mellany took home a gym towel featuring the shire logo, a stylish frank green 1L water bottle, and a coveted six-month gym membership!
The momentum continued on Friday, October 11th, at the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility, where another Spin Competition took place from 3 PM to 8 PM. Claire Tamoe emerged as the overall winner in both the general and Community categories, matching Mellany’s haul with a gym towel, a frank green water bottle, and a six-month gym membership.
The event also highlighted young talent, with Vama Loloa winning the Youth category and taking home the gym towel, water bottle, and a junior gym membership for Term 1 2025. Meanwhile, Margaret Treen claimed victory in the Seniors category, receiving the gym towel and water bottle as well.
Both competitions not only showcased incredible athleticism but also fostered a sense of community spirit. Participants and spectators alike celebrated health, fitness, and camaraderie, making the events a resounding success.
With such enthusiastic participation and support, the Coolgardie and Kambalda communities are already looking forward to next year's Spin Competitions!
