Lake Colac Foreshore Footpath Reinstatement Project Commences

Published on 21 November 2024

Council is pleased to announce the commencement of the Lake Colac foreshore footpath reinstatement works at Ross’ Point.

This essential project aims to repair the eroded embankment that has compromised the foreshore footpath, posing a safety risk to users. The works will restore a 40-metre section of the pathway, including the renewal of the damaged pathway and embankment and implementation of erosion protection measures to prevent future undercutting of the footpath.

Local company Otway Civil has been contracted to complete the works.

During the construction period, there will be increased traffic through Stoddart Street Park. The community is advised to observe all signage and exercise caution in the area.

The project is scheduled to begin in the next 2 weeks with a target completion date in December.

Council is also seeking to confirm whether external funding is available to enable repair of flood damage to the path further west of the current works.
