Wednesday, January 1, 2025, 12am Usher in the new year with a kaleidoscope of colour at The Lord Mayor’s New Year’s Eve Fireworks. Held at South Bank Parklands on Tuesday 31 December 2024, the evening features two free spectacular fireworks shows – one at 7.45pm for families and one at midnight for late-night revellers welcoming in the New Year in style.The best viewing locations at South Bank include the Clem Jones Promenade, the Cultural Forecourt, Riverside Green and River Quay.South Bank Parklands retailers will be open during the day with takeaway food also available from pop-up food and beverage vendors on the Cultural Forecourt. You are also welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages into the parklands.Event safetySouth Bank Parklands will be an alcohol-free site on the day, except for those dining in a restaurant or licensed premises, which abides by the usual liquor licensing rules. Prohibited items include metal cutlery and other sharp items, drink bottles and unsealed lids (including bottles of water or soft drink), scooters, bikes, pets, glass, marquees and any large portable structures.Getting therePublic transport is the best way to travel to South Bank Parklands for the fireworks.
