Residents who are still experiencing discoloured tap water are being encouraged to report it to Council.
Early last week, residents in the suburbs from Cairns North to Smithfield were asked to conserve water as Council worked to resolve an issue with discoloured water, which was related to maintenance at water reservoirs, high usage, and hot temperatures.
In response, there was a significant reduction of water use.
Thank you to the community for your continued efforts in conserving water, it has greatly assisted.
Now we need your assistance again, by reporting any instances of discoloured tap water.
This will help us pinpoint how the issue is moving through our water network.
The conserve water notice for residents from Cairns North to Smithfield remains in place. We will advise when further information is available.
To make a report to Council, call our customer call centre on 1300 69 22 47, email [email protected], via “report a problem”, or via the My Cairns app.
