Council wishes you a safe and happy holiday season and a prosperous New Year. 

This page details particular service changes for Council-run services over the upcoming holiday period.

Customer service centres

Council’s customer service centres in Gisborne, Kyneton, Romsey and Woodend will be closed from 2pm on Tuesday 24 December 2024. 

For enquiries during this time, call (03) 5422 0333. 

All offices will reopen on Thursday 2 January 2025 at the following times: 

Gisborne: 8:30am  Kyneton: 8:30am Romsey: 9:30am  Woodend: 12pm  Bin collections 

Bins will not be collected on Wednesday 25 December 2024. If your collection day falls on 25 December, your bins will be collected Thursday 26 December.  

If your collection day falls on Thursday 26 December 2024 or Friday 27 December 2024, please put your bins out as usual. There may be a slight delay in collecting the bins (up to 24 hours) but please put them on your kerb when you normally would and leave them out until collected.  

All bins will be collected by 6pm Saturday 28 December 2024. If your bin has not been collected after this time, please call our customer service team on (03) 5422 0333.

Other service changes

Below is a list of other changes to our standard operating hours for our public-facing services between Tuesday 24 December 2024 and Wednesday 1 January 2025.

We encourage you to double-check the respective service pages via the links below for specific information about a service's standard operating hours - some services, such as resource recovery facilities, have different standard operating hours depending on the location (or in relation to Total Fire Ban Days).

Romsey Resource Recovery Facility will close early at 1pm (open 10am-1pm) on Tue 24 Dec, to allow for a site clean.
