Wyndham City is proud to announce Dhieu Nuun as the One Wyndham recipient for December.
Dhieu is committed to contributing to the Wyndham community and drive positive change through inspiring, mentoring, guiding and supporting young people in Wyndham and making a difference in their lives.
Dhieu engages young people in various community initiatives and events to foster inclusion, cultural exchange and community connection. He is involved in initiatives including the South Sudanese Unity Cup, Refugee Week events, Mental Health awareness activities with Foundation house, Multicultural Day and leadership programs to engage young people from South Sudan and Burmese communities.
Through leading and creating opportunities for young people to connect and collaborate in the community, Dhieu plays a conduit role in supporting young people to navigate challenges and take positive steps to pursue their goals.
Dhieu has completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and long term aims to work in the Public Health sector to make a difference in community health outcomes.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said: “Dhieu is a fabulous role model for young people and actively contributes to foster an inclusive and connected community.”

One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 to 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.
Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the ‘Young Person of the Month’.
Winners are awarded a $300 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.
