Cambridge Library was buzzing with excitement during our latest Story Time session on Thursday, 5 December 2024, featuring Madison Heady, WA Young Person of the Year 2023. Madison captivated young minds with her inspiring stories, gently teaching that people with disabilities might approach things differently - and that’s something to celebrate!
The event began with Madison reading some of her favourite books, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere. Children enthusiastically joined in rhymes and songs, engaging in interactive activities like touching toes and waving their arms. These playful moments encouraged creativity, connection, and understanding.
To round off the session, kids got hands-on with an arts and crafts activity, creating their very own flower pots. With colourful paints and paper flowers, little artists unleashed their imaginations, proudly leaving with unique pots to take home.

Madison’s stories and kindhearted approach made this Story Time truly special. Parents and children alike left with valuable lessons about kindness, diversity, and embracing differences, fostering disability awareness in a fun and accessible way.
We’re grateful to Madison for her incredible contribution and to all who joined us for this memorable event! If you missed it, don’t worry - Story Time takes place every Tuesday and Thursday at Cambridge Library, offering more opportunities to enjoy stories, songs, and crafts.
