As October rolled to a close, the vibrant communities of Kambalda and Coolgardie celebrated the end of Bike Month in style—while also marking the grand opening of both local pools!

Originally set for a grand Tour de Kambalda and Coolgardie Community Fun Ride, the event took a delightful twist when the plan changed to a sunny ride to the pool instead.

On Saturday, October 26th, kids aged 5 to 15 hopped on their bikes and pedaled their way to the Kambalda Aquatic Facility, while the next day, Sunday the 27th, the Coolgardie Aquatic Facility welcomed its own flock of enthusiastic young riders. The air buzzed with excitement as kids donned colorful helmets and decorated their bikes, showcasing their creativity from the bike decoration workshop.

But this month wasn't just about riding; it was packed with fun activities! Participants learned vital road safety tips from local police officers, participated in an exhilarating bike parade, and even took part in a thrilling spin competition. Each activity was designed not only to educate but to foster a sense of community and adventure.

The highlight? Every participant had a chance to win a fabulous $500 bike voucher from My Ride Kalgoorlie!

After a month of hard work and dedication, the moment of truth arrived: the winners were announced! Leo Morgan from Kambalda and Charri Fitzgerald from Coolgardie emerged victorious.

This spirited finale not only celebrated biking but also marked the official opening of both community pools, inviting families to dive into summer fun.

Here’s to the pedal power of Kambalda and Coolgardie—where every ride is a celebration, every child is a winner, and the splash of summer fun has officially begun!
