Wyndham City has had a productive and transformative 12 months, delivering a wide range of projects that are enhancing the community’s infrastructure.
The Capital Works Program has seen the completion of new community facilities, upgraded sporting facilities, essential road upgrades, and revitalised open spaces.
Among the highlights are the opening of three new community centres that will serve as central hubs for Wyndham’s growing population.
The $18.4 million Truganina Community Centre, the $13.7 million Lollypop Creek Community centre and the new 4.5 million Hoppers Crossing Family Centre provide residents with modern spaces and a range of family support services.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said: “We've undertaken a significant $5.7 million upgrade at the Davis and Doherty Road intersection, complemented by an additional $8.4 million spread across 12 local road enhancements.”
“We’ve also launched the Connecting Wyndham initiative — a $348 million, 10-year roads package aimed at unlocking our city's transport potential while improving connectivity and accessibility for all.”
“The completion of Ironbark Fields in Tarneit has elevated Wyndham’s sporting infrastructure, while the Brookdale and Webster Street Reserve Pavilions will ensure local sporting clubs are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.”
“We also opened the Williams Landing Dog Off-Leash Park and The Strand Dog Off-Leash Park, ensuring our furry friends have ample room to run and play.”
“Over the past year, we’ve made tremendous progress in enhancing Wyndham’s liveability and ensuring our community has the facilities and services needed to thrive.”
