The City of Fremantle’s Green Links project has received a significant contribution from the state government, with a grant of $184,757.
The grant funding will assist with implementing stage three of the City’s Green Links project which focuses on planting along Marine Terrace in winter 2025.
The Green Links project connects the green corridors of the city and important community precincts.
The City understands that trees, planting and green spaces are particularly important in city urban environments, where people live, work and recreate.
The Urban Greening Grant program is managed by DWER in collaboration with WALGA, and aims to increase urban canopy, reduce urban heat, create ecological corridors and enhance biodiversity.
The City of Fremantle was one of 16 local governments that were successful in round three of the three-year grant program.
This grant follows another grant of $44,596 received in the second round of the program in September, which assisted with planting along Stevens Street.
