Kambalda was buzzing with energy on Monday, December 16th, as kids of all ages gathered for an exciting Basketball Clinic at the Kambalda Community Recreation Facility. The event was a slam dunk, bringing together both the young and the young at heart for a day filled with basketball, fun, and skill-building.
The day kicked off with a session for the 5 to 11-year-olds from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Under the expert guidance of Coach Alby Ellis, the young players learned new techniques, improved their dribbling, and got in plenty of practice on their shooting skills.
Next, from 1:30 pm to 3 pm, the clinic switched gears for the youth aged 12 and over. This group was ready to step up their game and challenge their skills in a more intense session. Coach Alby brought his passion and expertise, pushing the players to hone their dribbling, shooting, and teamwork. The older kids were quick to pick up new tricks and show what they had learnt.
Whether it was the younger players mastering their first layups or the older athletes refining their crossovers, everyone left the clinic with a big smile and a newfound love for basketball. Alby’s coaching style—fun, energetic, and supportive—made sure that everyone, no matter their experience, felt like a champion.
The event was more than just a chance to learn basketball—it was about having fun, staying active, and building community spirit. Kambalda truly came alive with the excitement of the game! ????????
A huge thank you to Coach Alby Ellis and all the participants for making this Basketball Clinic such a memorable event. We can’t wait to see everyone back on the court for more hoops, high-fives, and good times! ????????
