Join council at one of four community events to celebrate Australia Day Awards recipients in Blackwater, Emerald, Rolleston and Capella.
Enjoy BBQ breakfasts, thong throwing competitions and free youth activities while we celebrate the amazing people nominated for these awards.
Nominees from across the region will be celebrated for their achievements and the wonderful things they have contributed to their communities.
“The Australia Day Awards are a chance to acknowledge our local residents, the quiet achievers of our community who are doing their bit every day to make positive contributions to the lives of others, without asking for anything in return,” Deputy Mayor Rachael Cruwys continued.
“Whether they have inspired others with their personal achievements or volunteered many hours of support they have enriched our community,”
“It is an opportunity to celebrate the traits of humility, service and selfless generosity that epitomise what ‘being Australian’ is all about,”
