Mareeba Shire Australia Day Ceremonies 2025

Everyone is invited to a special event to welcome Mareeba Shire’s newest Aussie citizens and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our residents at the Australia Day Awards ceremony on Sunday, 26 January 2025.

“Come along this Australia Day as we recognise the incredible contributions that our residents make to our community,” said Mareeba Mayor Angela Toppin.

The ceremonies will start at 10am at the Cedric Davies Community Hub, 43 Anzac Avenue, Mareeba.

“If you have never attended a citizenship ceremony, why not make this Australia Day the chance to witness this significant occasion as nine new citizens take the final step to becoming the Shire’s newest Aussies,” said Mayor Toppin.

This year, Mareeba Shire Council is partnering with the Lions Club of Mareeba to provide a free sausage sizzle. There will also be cake, tea and coffee available after the ceremony.

“There will be free face painting and fun activities for children. We look forward to seeing you there,” concluded Mayor Toppin.
