Council has been working to identify and rectify the situation and has been liaising closely with Queensland Health.
The issue is believed to be linked to the bore causing cloudy water. Temporary water storage tanks have been installed at the Anakie Water Treatment Plant, enabling water to be trucked in from Emerald or Sapphire.
The bore has been taken offline for inspection. Further updates will follow once the root cause is identified. Anakie residents have been notified via hand delivered notice.
The boil water notice remains in effect until water quality meets safety standards as approved by Queensland Health.
Weekly updates will be provided to keep residents informed.
