The weather forecast for Monday 27 January 2025 is 38 degrees, with the CFA currently forecasting an Extreme Fire Danger Rating for the Macedon Ranges (Central District).

We have certain policies in place to support our staff and community during higher-risk ratings.

If Monday’s rating remains Extreme, the following changes will apply:

Resource recovery facilities will be closed Monday bin collections will take place early, so please put bins out Sunday night.

If the rating changes to Catastrophic, all Council facilities and services in Macedon, Mount Macedon and Woodend (including Hanging Rock and the Woodend Outdoor Pool) will close to reduce activity in these heavily forested/high risk areas.

Remember, forecasts may change between now and Monday, so it's important you have your fire plan ready and stay informed:
