Every year, the Shire of Coolgardie recognises and acknowledges individuals, community groups and organisations for the contributions they have made to our community.
This year saw a record number of nominations made over four categories comprising of the Citizen Award, Youth Award, Community Group or Event and the Corporate Award.
Here are your winners for 2025!
Coolgardie WinnersCoolgardie pics to come!Citizen Award - This award is presented to an individual over 25 years of age who has made an outstanding contribution to the local community.
WINNER – Meghan Kent
Meg is a visionary leader empowering Goldfields youth through Golden You Leadership, fostering life skills and resilience while supporting community initiatives like Coolgardie Men’s Shed and Helping Hands.
Youth Award - This Award is presented to an individual under 25 years of age who has made an outstanding contribution to the local community.
WINNER – Paige Clark
Paige, a dedicated Apparatus Officer and coach, exemplifies courage, leadership, and selflessness, earning respect for her commitment to community safety and inspiring young athletes through teamwork and resilience.
Senior Award -This award celebrates individuals over 65 who have gone above and beyond for the community.
WINNER – Ann Meagher
Ann played a key role in establishing Coolgardie's Merchants Shop, supports the RSL through volunteering and fundraising, and brought the Prospectors Association's Annual Meeting to Coolgardie, boosting community and economy.
Corporate Award -This award recognises a business or organisation that has made a significant impact on the community.
WINNER – Evolution Mining
Community Group - This is presented to a community group or committee in the Shire of Coolgardie that has made an outstanding contribution to the local community.
WINNER – Coolgardie Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service
Community Event -Lastly, we honour the event that has brought the community together in an extraordinary way.
WINNER – Coolgardie Day Celebrations Inc
Kambalda WinnersCitizen Award - This award is presented to an individual over 25 years of age who has made an outstanding contribution to the local community.
WINNER – Morgan Baker (pictured second from left)
Morgan’s tireless volunteering spans the Kambalda Community Garden, Playgroup, P&C, Markets, and Christmas Tree, strengthening community spirit, wellbeing, and the local economy with her dedication and leadership.
Youth Award - This Award is presented to an individual under 25 years of age who has made an outstanding contribution to the local community.
WINNER – Naijahna Chapman Grant (pictured second from left)
Senior Award -This award celebrates individuals over 65 who have gone above and beyond for the community.
WINNER – Ned Albert (pictured third from left)
Ned’s positivity and dedication uplift local senior events, creating an inspiring atmosphere where everyone feels valued, motivated, and connected through his support and infectious energy.
Corporate Award -This award recognises a business or organisation that has made a significant impact on the community.
WINNER – Dave's Old & New (pictured third from left)
Community Group - This is presented to a community group or committee in the Shire of Coolgardie that has made an outstanding contribution to the local community.
WINNER – Kambalda Community Garden (pictured third from left back row & first on left bottom row)
Under Morgan Baker’s leadership, the Kambalda Community Garden has become a hub for sustainability, education, well-being, and collaboration, offering fresh produce, workshops, and fostering community connection and creativity.
Community Event -Lastly, we honour the event that has brought the community together in an extraordinary way.
WINNER – Kambalda Community Christmas Tree (pictured second from left)
The committee’s dedication has transformed the 2024 event into a vibrant community highlight with live music, bigger rides, and activities for all ages, earning them recognition in the 2025 Australia Day Awards.
