Council is developing its draft Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2025-2027 and invites the community to share their ideas to help build on reconciliation across the Shire.
Council has begun developing its third RAP in consultation with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, Traditional Owners, the wider community and the internal Reconciliation Working Group. It will outline how Council can build and strengthen relationships, show respect, and improve opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Cardinia Shire Council Mayor, Cr Jack Kowarzik says the Innovate RAP supports a commitment towards reconciliation as a Council and community by outlining tangible actions and initiatives.
“Community and stakeholder feedback is crucial during these early stages of the Innovate RAP development as we’re looking to gather an understanding of how we can support first nations community across the areas employment, education, health, cultural preservation, and community engagement” says Mayor Kowarzik.
