Reminder that Council half-yearly rates are due next week

Cairns ratepayers are reminded that Council’s half-yearly rates are due on Wednesday 19 February.

A variety of convenient online and phone payment options are available, including:

Via the Online Self Service payment page on Council’s website (Visa, Mastercard and Amex accepted). For multiple properties, use the shopping cart facility.By phone: Payment by credit card can be made via BPoint on 1300 276 468 using biller code 49346 and the assessment number on the rates notice.BpayMailed cheque or money orderDirect debit arrangementsAustralia Post online, phone 13 18 16, or in person.

Residents can now opt to receive future rates notices by email, by providing their name, email address and property assessment number, found on the top right hand corner of any existing notice.

They can also request a Bpay View version via their internet banking.

Financial hardship arrangements

Ratepayers severely impacted by last year’s flood event caused by ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper can apply for financial assistance in the form of an extended interest-free payment arrangement.

To apply, people can complete the rates hardship relief online form or call 1300 69 22 47.

Once your application has been received, a member of the revenue team will be in contact to discuss repayment options.

This financial relief applies to residential, commercial and rural ratepayers.
