As another exciting school holiday program wraps up, the Youth Centre would like to take a moment to reflect on the highlights and share some important updates.
Extreme Weather and Unexpected Closure
This summer brought the heat, with temperatures over 40 degrees! During the third week of the program, a major power issue forced the Youth Centre to temporarily close. The issue has now been fully resolved. A big thank you to the Shire staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to get the problem fixed!
A Long-Awaited Excursion
A standout moment of this holiday program was the first excursion in a long while! Liz, Taria, and Naomi took 15 youth members to Cockburn Ice Skating Arena, where they had an absolute blast. For some, it was their first-ever time on the ice, and they aced it! It was fantastic to see everyone stepping out of their comfort zone and enjoying themselves. Thanks to Nicholls bus service for keeping us cool on our journey.
Upcoming Closure for Staff Training
The Youth Centre will be closed on Thursday, 27 February for staff training.
Age Recommendations for the Youth Centre
The Youth Centre would like to remind the community that, while it is an inclusive service, and children under 10 are permitted to attend with parental supervision, the recommended age for their programs is 10 and over.
