Huon Valley Medical Services has implemented key developments to improve healthcare for the local community:
Addition of four new part-time Registrars to the medical team increasing doctor availability Establishment of three Rural Health Beds at Dover in conjunction with the Tasmanian Department of Health Dr Malhaar Ner’s advancement to Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Contract renewals and extensions for existing medical staff“This expansion has significantly improved access to primary health care across both practices,” said Mayor Sally Doyle. “We’ve doubled appointment availability at Geeveston and offer both in-person and telehealth consultations for greater flexibility.”

Council remains committed to further improving health care services for the community and is actively working with allied providers and government agencies to expand service range, extend operating hours at Geeveston Medical Centre, and ensure long-term sustainability of medical services across the Huon Valley.
