Two public meetings on March 12 will invite the community to share their vision for the future of Corangamite Shire.
Council is hosting the Community Conversation Sessions at the Camperdown Theatre Royal at 2 pm and 6 pm.
The meetings will help Council reconfirm and refresh our Community Vision, prepare a new Council Plan and seek community input for other key plans and strategies which will guide council’s activities and decisions.
Participants can share their thoughts on topics including lifestyle, facilities and infrastructure, environmental considerations, community needs across life stages, business investment, employment, education, tourism, health and more.
Sarah Wall, local netballer, coach and business founder will speak at the Community Conversation Sessions, kicking off the conversation for the night.
Mayor Kate Makin said Council refreshed these plans every four years at the start of each council term, and the sessions on 12 March were great opportunities to shape Council’s focus for the future.
“This is a unique opportunity to have a say in our community's future – what you like, what you want to change, what you want to protect, and what you want done differently,” Cr Makin said.
“We want to hear from a wide cross-section of the community to ensure we capture the views and aspirations of the whole community,” she said.
“Your insights and ideas are crucial as we work together to shape a vibrant and thriving future for Corangamite Shire.
“Whether it's about facilities and infrastructure, environmental considerations, health, or economic growth, every voice matters.”
People can RSVP for the sessions for catering purposes at tinyurl.com/Conversation2025 or email [email protected] or phone 03 5593 7100.
Community members can also join the conversation by completing an online survey at www.corangamite.vic.gov.au/Conversation2025
Council is also having focus groups with interest groups across the shire to ensure the consultation reaches a representative sample of the population.
