Works at West Park

Commencing Thursday 6th March, Council contractors will be undertaking works to unblock the Shorewell Creek culvert (that passes under the Highway and Coastal Pathway) and remove willows and other invasive weeds just west of West Park on the shoreline.

Works are expected to be completed by Monday afternoon, 7th March. 

The works will involve building a gravel ramp for machine access and removal of willows, blackberry, silt, debris and other weeds. 

A survey of the area looking for the presence of Little Penguins has been undertaken and has not found any affected burrows.  Council's NRM officer will be on site to monitor works for any unexpected finds.

The Coastal Pathway and skate park car parks will remain open.

Please be mindful of trucks and machines as they occasionally move through the area.
